The Cook Islands treated its guests to an underwater experience last night, as it showcased its MICE appeal to the Australian events industry.
Held at the Sydney Aquarium, Cook Islands Tourism Australian general manager Kerryn Cook told e-Travel Blackboard the Islands have real “potential” to build on the number of events and conferences held in the region.
Aiming to turn the Cook Islands MICE showcase into an annual event, she revealed that next year the Cooks would not exhibit at AIME in Melbourne.
“We wanted more time to show what we have,” she said.
“We have huge potential to build our MICE industry because it’s all tailor made to fit the event, we have flexibility, value for money and unique creativity.”
Earlier this year the Cook Islands launched new social networking and advertising around Australia to attract potential travellers to their online site.
Ms Cook told e-Travel Blackboard that since major campaigning kicked off the website’s clicks more than doubled.
