Gone are the days when family placed first, with Australian and New Zealand travellers missing their beds, pets and coffee more than their loved ones, according to a new poll.

Skyscanner research on what holidaymakers miss most while travelling abroad found that over half of those surveyed said they missed their own bed followed by their pets, a good cup of coffee and non-bottled water.

While family ranked in fifth most missed on the list, relatives and vegemite managed to out-rank friends who placed eighth most missed.

Tim Tams and meat pies also made the list as eleventh and twelfth most missed items while work sat towards the end of the list at twenty-fourth.

Pets or family? What do you miss most while on holidays?
