Queenstown has been voted the number one destination for New Zealand travellers for the second time, according to a recent survey of 17,000 Kiwis.
The research conducted by Travelbug found New Zealanders have named Queenstown the domestic location Kiwis enjoyed holidaying at the most (with 16 percent of the vote).
Trade Me head of travel Daniel Bridges said Queenstown was a favourite destination for North Islanders, especially those visitors from Auckland and Wellington.
“Queenstown is a place people dream of visiting, and love to return to,” Mr Bridges said.
“Its four distinct seasons make it a great place to visit at any time of year and its diversity offers something for all ages and budgets regardless of whether you’re a 7-year-old snowboarder or a 77 year-old wine connoisseur.”
Destination Queenstown chief executive officer Graham Budd said he was especially pleased with the result.
“This is a fantastic endorsement for Queenstown and will hopefully provide inspiration for Kiwis to consider Queenstown for their next holiday,” Mr Budd said.
“Continually improving air access – more flights, more routes and bigger aircraft – is making it easier for people to come and enjoy the spectacular lake and alpine scenery and experiences Queenstown has to offer.
“It can be your international holiday experience at any time of year without leaving the country.” |
