Following on from the success of the 8th annual Opera and Music Festival on Norfolk Island last February, Queensland-based Opera and Song company, OPERATIF!, have recently released the 2013 Festival for sale.
“Everyone who attended this year had such a wonderful time, with many describing the Festival as a ‘triumph’”, said former Aucklander, baritone Stewart Cameron. “We knew it truly was the best Festival to date and with everyone so unanimously happy, we decided to re-engage as many of the artists as we could for 2013! “
OPERATIF! have now confirmed almost all of the artists and have put together another winning program of concerts, scheduled to take place in a variety of evening and daytime slots. “There is so much to do on Norfolk Island, we are mindful of allowing our Festival attendees plenty of opportunities to take in the many excellent local tours, explore the island and its historic sites or simply laze about and enjoy the scenery and fresh air,” added Stewart.
‘Opera in Paradise,’ will be in its 9th year next February and with enthusiasm for the event growing each time, the producers, OPERATIF! anticipate their best ever attendance in 2013. “We believe that enjoyment of the marvellous and varied concerts is heightened when people are on holiday, relaxed and with no pre-concert traffic or parking problems,’ Stewart said. ‘You can feel that the audience is relaxed and in a good spirits and that in turn lifts the performers. The concerts are all different and feature popular opera highlights, different styles of song, including hits from the musicals, best-loved piano solos and duets and to cap things off...some stunning violin pieces. Anyone who loves good music will be thrilled with the concerts, which are always highly appealing and feature well-known pieces.
