Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Asia Pacific has appointed Mr Marc Landgraf to oversee the management and operations of the Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort and Spa, effective July 1, 2012. The property, which officially becomes the Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort and Spa on November 3, is currently being upgraded and is located in a idyllic beachfront location on a quiet peninsula of Phi Phi Island, midway between Phuket and Krabi in the inner Andaman Sea.
Prior to joining Outrigger, Landgraf was General Manager of the Cape Panwa Hotel & Spa in Phuket. He also had successful periods as Group Director of Sales at Aleenta Resorts and Spas, and as General Manager of the Paradise Koh Yao, boutique resort and spa, both in Thailand.
His 17-year hospitality industry experience includes senior roles in resorts in the Dominican Republic, serviced apartments in Brussels and with Sodexho Catering and Services in Luxembourg and France.
"Marc's key strengths are implementing standard operating procedures, cost control, team building and motivating personnel," said Darren Edmonstone, Managing Director for Outrigger in the Asia Pacific region. "Marc will take the current product and service offering at the Phi Phi Island property and work with the team there to elevate it to Outrigger's international standards."
The existing beachfront bungalows are currently being upgraded and 38 stunning new Deluxe Garden Bungalows will be ready by November 2012. Restaurant outlets are also being improved and a new gym being installed. The enhancements will be ready by November 3, this year, when Outrigger officially takes over the management of the property and it is branded as an Outrigger resort.
Landgraf, a French national, has a degree in International Hospitality Management from the Hotel Management School in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is also fluent in German, Spanish and English. Rugby is a passion. He played for the Luxembourg national team for five years and in the Belgian 1st League.
