Sustainability crucial for events landscape
Sustainability has and will continue to be a priority for corporate events, according to Australian events management company, MCI.
MCI’s President of Asia Pacific Robin Lokerman advocated the importance of sustainability and its correlation to the future success of corporate meetings and events.
MCI became the first MICE agency to sign the UN Global Compact in 2007.
“MCI have considerable experience organising sustainable events such as the EU2012 Presidents’ Conference in Copenhagen and we were involved in last week’s Earth Summit 2012 in Rio de Janeiro. So we would like to share our experiences with the Australian market,” Mr Lokerman said.
Over the past few years, MCI has developed sustainable event programmes including; Xstrata Coal Qld Sustainable Development Forum 2012, Australian GRI Conference 2012, Sustainable Urbanisation - A Resilient Future 2011, XStrata Coal Queensland Sustainable Development Forum 2011, Four Degrees or More? Conference 2011, 6th World Environmental Education Congress 2011 and the National Climate Change Forum 2010.
