Following a global selection process, Tiger Airways has appointed Mr Koay Peng Yen as the group chief executive officer to replace Mr Chin who will be returning to Singapore Airlines.

Effective from 10 August 2012, Mr Yen’s role is his first in the airline industry after he was Executive Director of marine and offshore companies Pacific Carriers Limited and PaxOcean Engineering Group.

Tiger Chairman J Y Pillay said the board assessed Mr Yen and appointed him based on his proven leadership and strategic skills, capacity for incisive thinking and facility for building cohesive teams to propel the Group to greater and sustainable heights.

Mr Yen said he was privileged to work with Tiger, with opportunities for business expansion and brand development.

“There is great potential for Tiger to soar as we drive growth in air travel in Asia, and make our presence felt,” the new CEO said.

“We aim to maximise shareholder value for our investors as we take Tiger into a new phase of growth across the skies by building on offering good deals with great reliability to flyers,” Mr Yen concluded.
