The award-winning Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa has welcomed a new General Manager, Vincent Macquet. The news follows the recent relocation of former hotel General Manager Wouter de Graaf to New Zealand’s North Island where he is now General Manager of the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour, in addition to his new role as Area General Manager for Sofitel Luxury Hotels - New Zealand. A graduate of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in Australia Vincent commenced his hospitality career at the Pak Hyatt in Melbourne as part of the hotel’s pre-opening Food & Beverage team. He later became Manager of the Conference and Banquet department while overseeing Radii, the property’s Restaurant and Bar, and was awarded “Manager of the Year” while guiding Radii to receive two chefs hats. Since then, Vincent has worked for Leading Hotel of the World’s Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort in Mauritius and the Grand Hyatt Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman before moving to New Zealand in 2007 at the Langham hotel in Auckland, where he was promoted to Hotel Manager. Vincent’s last tenure was as Director of Operations for the Hilton Hotel Adelaide, Australia. |
