World of Accor Goes Into Over-Drive As Travel Agent Wins Peugeot 207CC Convertible

Friday, 3 August 2012

Sanford International Corporate Travel Manager, Rachel Dunn (pictured), has driven a Ford Laser for some 18 years, not the sort of car to fit in with Sanford’s swanky Double Bay address. But now she will look perfectly at home as she drives through Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs in her new $40,000 Peugeot 207CC convertible, which she won last night at the World of Accor expo at Sofitel Wentworth.

Rachel was one of over 1100 travel industry delegates who attended the expo, with five of the lucky attendees winning a key that had the potential to unlock the door for the Peugeot.

World of Accor MCs Melissa Doyle and Larry Emdur gathered the five finalists next to the Peugeot and Rachel was the first to be asked to see if her key unlocked the car door. It did. Lights went flashing, she went into a joyous frenzy, and she all but drove the car out of the Grand Ballroom at the Sofitel and into the night.

The Peugeot prize was one of a whole series of accommodation and travel prizes drawn during the day.

Over 90 Accor delegates representing some 3000 hotels were on hand to discuss Accor’s newest product – including over 40 hotels added as a result of the Mirvac acquisition – with the travel industry.

Attendees were richly entertained throughout the evening, while Robert Oatley Wines ensured that guests were fully hydrated.

World of Accor is the largest hotel expo staged in Australia and is part of an extensive World of Accor Asia Pacific programme that takes in 16 cities across the region.
