A reminder for all those Australian and New Zealand 18-30 year olds looking to take part in the 2012 Taiwan Youth Trekkers & Working Holiday Campaign, they now have until just 08 October to get their entries in. Designed to underline Taiwan’s appeal to the international youth travel market and also showcase the ease with which the youth market can enjoy a working holiday in Taiwan, entering the competition – and winning the USD3000 prize up for grabs – is simple. All contestants have to do is upload a maximum two minute video clip introducing themselves along with a proposed travel itinerary giving their expectations of what a perfect trip to Taiwan would entail. Once they have compiled their video clip, all they have to do is upload it on a special link http://youthtravel.tw/youthtrekker before 12.00 midday (Taiwan standard time) on 08 October. Online voting for the best entry will commence on 09 October, running until 23 October when the winner of the competition – and the USD3000 prize – will be announced. The prize-winner will then use the USD3000 to fund their Taiwan visit, arrangements for which will be based on the prize winning itinerary they submitted as part of their competition entry. As part of the competition the winner will also be required to record details of their experience, whilst in Taiwan, using a variety of online platforms includingYouTube, personal blogs, facebook, MySpace and twitter. TTB Marketing Representative Australia & New Zealand, Ms Pearl Lee, said the main thrust of the competition was intended to capture the attention of the international youth market. “Having competition participants research the huge number of soft adventure, sporting and cultural activities Taiwan offers while compiling their entries is the perfect way to educate them on and underline Taiwan’s appeal to the 18-30 year old travelling market. “Our offerings range from trekking and cycling, rock climbing and white water rafting to innumerable water sports, including diving and surfing, with everything over-layed by an extremely distinctive and unique culture. “This event is intended to play a major role in positioning Taiwan as a stand-out and alternative travel destination for a specific travel group which is constantly on the look out for new and exciting things to do on the international travel scene. “And this is where Taiwan truly delivers. “It really is time for Taiwan.” |
