Hidden behind the following events are­ amazing stories, just waiting to be discovered.

CRUSH Regional Arts Festival 2010
1st October - 30th October 2010
CRUSH is a month-long festival celebration of what it means to live and create artwork in regional areas. This year it will focus on Bundaberg as a hub of emerging artists. The program will go from art competitions and exhibitions, to youth music events and theatre productions; from beer festivals in local pubs to sharing space with writers in cafe society; from sculpture in the vineyard to poetry in the paddock; from high fashion to funky street wear.

Australian Camp Oven Festival 2010
2-3 October 2010
Where: Milmerran
Hungry for a taste of good old-fashioned country cooking? Commemorating traditional Australian Camp Oven cooking and the lifestyle activities associated with it, this festival sees professional and amateur cooks use cast iron camp ovens, cooking over open fires at the local showgrounds. Camp Oven cooking competitions, billy boiling speed tests, a damper throwing competition and live country music make this festival a great weekend for the whole family to fill up on!

River Dragon Festival 2010
8-10 October 2010
Where: St George
The River Dragon Festival will showcase St George's amazing natural tourist attraction, the Balonne River. Some of the highlights will include a photo competition, craft show, markets, row boat challenge, dragon boat races, and other entertainment. Other events include the Jazz, Boots and Blues! Jump and jive to the music in your decorated boots, or sit and sip on a cool wine and enjoy some tasty food.

BAM! Fest 2010
8-10 October 2010
Where: Ipswich
The groovy and mouth-wateringly different three day spectacular BAM! Fest is here and you will want to be there. A Music, Arts, Community, Culture and Camping Event that will seriously rock your socks off. With a showcase of local talent and over 50 South East Queensland acts, this is sure to be a home-grown hit that will introduce festival goers to the beauty of Mt Flinders and put Ipswich on the International Festival Map

Paradise Regatta 2010
24 May - 10 June, 2010
Where: Gold Coast
Calling all those with competitive spirit and a love of team water sports. The Paradise Regatta is a Sports Tourism Television event that brings competitors from various water sports, including rowing and dragon boats racers to Surfers Paradise to compete on the Nerang River. Divisions of the competition include Schools, Universities, Corporate Teams, Clubs and Elite Crews. 

Straddie Salute 2010

The Straddie Salute is a triathlon with a difference.  In only its third year, The Straddie Salute is fast becoming an iconic, must-do event on Queensland's multisport calendar.  It consists of a 600m ocean swim, 18km mountain bike ride and 8km coastal run. The event also includes a less challenging 7km Fun Run & Walk option and the Straddie 1000, a 1km ocean swim open to all competitors and the general public. Set on one of Queensland's iconic island destinations, the event offers a range of opportunities for the weekend fitness enthusiast.

Rocky Barra Bounty
15-16 October 2010
Where: Rockhampton
Rocky Barra Bounty celebrates its 12th year in 2010 and promises to be bigger and better than ever! It will be staged on the Rockhampton Fitzroy River and comprises of two full days of fishing followed by an awards presentation and celebratory dinner. This 70-team competition is based on the most metres of Barramundi tagged and released, to ensure minimum impact on fish stocks and to provide a chance to collect data about the fish in the river.

Ramblers Post Equinox Skydiving Festival
15-23 October 2010
Where: Toogoolawah
A nine-day biennial skydiving event that attracts 300+ Australian and international skydivers and 1000's of spectators. All forms of skydiving including night jumping will take place daily. Organised entertainment occurs nightly. A one-day Music Festival will be an added attraction this Equinox. The opening ceremony will occur on Friday 15 October 2010.

Outback Trailblazer 2010

Get truckin'! The Angel Flight Outback Trailblazer is a seven-day and night 4WD event that involves exploring the magnificent outback roads, waterways, scenery and wildlife, meeting bush characters and experiencing sensational special events held in Central Western Queensland communities.  The participants will collect money for Angel Flight along the way.

Tastes of the Tablelands 2010

The Tastes of the Tableland Festival is a showcase of the best foods, wines, coffees and talent that the Tableland area has to offer. Check out young chefs displaying their talent by staging a cooking demonstration using local produce or a fashion parade from one of the local fashion houses presenting the latest in fashion using local festival beauty queens and models.

Crocodile Trophey 2010

No, this isn't about wrestling crocodiles. The Crocodile Trophy is a ten-day, 1300km mountain bike adventure race for both professional and amateur racers, featuring the spectacular rainforest and outback of Tropical North Queensland. It is respected in the world of international cycling as the longest, hottest and arguably the toughest mountain bike race on the planet. Are you up to the challenge? 

Caloundra Music Festival "Sun, Surf & Soul" 2010

Locals and visitors to Caloundra City are invited to celebrate and unwind and enjoy the "sun, surf & soul" of the Caloundra Music Festival. This not-for-profit community event celebrates the environment, cultural achievements and community pride of the Caloundra area. The beautiful Kings Beach and surrounds will come alive to the sounds of a diverse line-up of entertainment featuring the best of the Australian music industry as well as famous international artists. A colourful street parade, roving performers, beach-side carnival, buskers and free children's entertainment complete the experience.

30th Tablelands Festival @ Yungaburra

The 30th Tablelands Festival @ Yungburra program includes local, national and international acts performing folk, acoustic roots, blues, jazz, world, country roots, bluegrass and workshops with performers. There is also comedy, spoken word, Poet's Breakfasts, a Children's Festival, street performers and a parade through town, plus craft and market stalls. In addition there is a Home Brew competition and workshops, and a Wellbeing Fair.

Island Vibe 2010

This three-day outdoor music, arts and culture festival held on North Stradbroke Island will feature a smashing line-up of international, national and local bands, dancehall selectors and cultural dance troupes. Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic 2010

Charleville Cup Festival 2010

Bundy Thunder 2010

Brace yourself as Bathurst breezes into Bundaberg! The Bundy Thunder is Queensland's and now Australia's, largest powerboat circuit racing spectacular. Held annually in Bundaberg on the first weekend in November, it attracts teams and spectators from around Australia. The event includes two days of racing, but the adrenalin of this major Australian event is not confined to the water, with a variety of community ancillary events prior to and over the weekend.

CRCA Bullzye Rodeo 2010
12-13 November 2010
Where: Rockhampton
The city of Rockhampton is synonymous with bulls and beef so what better way to celebrate than with a Rodeo! The CRCA  Rodeo Finals Spectacular heralds all the bravado and dynamic action in a  professional display of rural skills and horsemanship.  The top 12 competitors from each event ride off for buckles, trophies and end of year titles. The finals culminate in a celebratory event with country music and championship decider.

Cunnamulla Fella Festival 2010

Where: Marcoola, Sunshine Coast
The famous town of Cunnamulla plays host to an action-packed outback adventure. In conjunction with the Bundaberg Rum Pro Series PBR Bull Ride and the Australian Professional Rodeo Association, the Cunnamulla Fella Festival is an opportunity to check out Australia's best bull riders and join in the celebration of the region's cultural heritage. Get involved and enjoy other well-loved Australian activities over the weekend, including bush poetry, a bush skills competition, a school dance program and live entertainment.

World Professional Kitesurfing Tour - Gold Coast 2010

Queensland's world famous 70 kilometer beach will play host to arguably the most exciting kitesurfing event to be held on the Gold Coast in 2010 - the World Professional Kitesurfing Tour, in conjunction with the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association (PRRA). Gold Coast, Australia will be the final event of the 2010 PKRA World Tour. It will include the crowning ceremony for the World Champion Male and Female Riders. The Gold Coast is the final and 11th destination of the World Tour, which includes Thailand, France, Dominican Republic, Greece, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil and New Caledonia. A visually exciting sport, a kite board is the fastest wind powered craft in the world. Be blown away, witness some amazing maneuvers, jumps and overall agility while soaking up the sun.

Chinchilla Melon Festival

The Melon Festival has every melon-related activity you could think of - melon skiing, melon iron man, melon pip spitting, melon tossing.  There's also melon bungee, melon bullseye, melon ball games and the big melon weigh-in. Julia Creek Dirt'n'Dust Festival

The Julia Creek Dirt and Dust festival is three jam-packed days of fun and entertainment staged in Julia Creek, North West Queensland. There truly is something for everyone at this community run festival, which offers of a variety of entertainment- there's a triathlon, horse races, outdoor concerts, novelty events, live concerts, bull riding and Australia's Best Butt competition.

Easterfest 2011
