What better way to learn about a destination than to experience it, and what better destination to experience than the treasured islands of the South Pacific, Samoa!

2011-2012 is Celebrate Samoa year where the island nation celebrates key sporting and cultural milestones and anniversaries.

To celebrate the wonderful work of our knowledgeable agents, Samoa Tourism Authority will reward two lucky agents who have completed the Travel Academy modules with a place at the 2012 Fa’a Samoa Roadshow to be held in Samoa.  Flights, transfers, accommodation, entry fees, most meals, air taxes and participation fees will be part of the prize package for the two lucky winners.

The Fa’a Samoa Roadshow gives agents an opportunity to receive and experience valuable product and destination updates with fellow agents in a fun and memorable 5 day famil from March 18-23.

Did you know that just five hours from Australia’s east coast and across the glistening Pacific lies Samoa –the Treasured Islands of the South Pacific? And did you know that Samoa is also considered the heart of Polynesia and boasts a 3,000 year old way of life called Fa’a Samoa? With travellers to Samoa increasing we recognize the need for some more Samoa.

By registering at www.travelacademy.com.au, agents will receive valuable product updates and training on Samoa, at their convenience, and at no cost.

With seven interesting modules covering destination facts, culture, various activities as well as practical information on various properties and facilities agents will be empowered with key selling points to promote this South Pacific jewel.

“We have received an SOS from our agents asking for more information about Samoa,” says Adele Leathan of Samoa Tourism Authority.

According to Adele, “the general public have seen the increased advertising, their interest is peaking and then they ask the agents for more information.  Most people would like to talk to someone whose product knowledge they trust.  Travel Academy empowers agents allowing them to sell the destination with confidence and authority.”

Once logged into Travel Academy, agents are required to complete seven modules, covering destination facts, culture, various activities, how to sell to the bridal and conference market as well as practical information on various properties and facilities.

“The training modules have been designed to help agents sell and to answer the general questions a client may have on Samoa.  It’s about making sure that the agent is a step ahead of their customer,” says Adele.

Agents will have until January 31 to sign up and complete the modules and the names of the two lucky winners will be selected and notified the first week of February.
