The Sydney travel industry showed up in force for the final Sydney based Thirsty Thursdays for 2011 and got their Gleek on for a fun-filled night at HelmBar at Darling Harbour.
With the theme of the night centred on the release of the much anticipated Nintendo Wii ‘Glee Karaoke Revolution Volume 3’, a steady stream of contestants took to the stage to sing along with their favourite Glee tunes.
Caroline Pemberton, former Miss World Australia and presenter for Discovery Channel’s “Places We Go”, got into the theme as a cheerleader (complete with homemade pom poms) to judge the karaoke competition and best dressed for the night.
There were prizes galore, with Pam Dawson from NRMA Travel taking home the grand prize, a return flight with V Australia thanks to Breakaway Travel Club and VISA and two nights’ accommodation at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in LA.
Other prize winning Gleeks included Kate Finnigan of Wendy Wu Tours who was happy with her IMAX package; Zaia Bazi of Jetaround Holidays collected the Cruise Passenger subscription; Pascale from Air Austral took home the Starlettos prize and Tom Milne from BCD Travel won the Historic House Trust voucher.
Thanks must go to all our sponsors who contributed to the night including VISA, Breakaway Travel Club, Luna Park, El-Phoenician Walsh Bay. A special thanks to Albatross Tours and GlobalCARS for providing the food for the evening.

All in all it was a Gleek-tastic way to end the year in Sydney with Thirsty Thursdays and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2012.
