Sabre keeps travellers in the loop with Travel Notifications

Thursday, 17 November 2011

Sabre-connected agencies can now register their travellers to receive up-to-the-minute travel notifications via SMS or email thanks to a recent update to the Sabre Red Workspace.

Due to the success of this capability in Sabre Virtually There, Sabre has extended this functionality to the Sabre Red Workspace.

Carl Frier, GM Sales Sabre Pacific, says the Flight Notification feature ensures the best possible travel experience for the passenger.

“The messaging system will send travellers trip reminders with links to check-in and flight notifications to update travellers of any delays, gate changes and cancellations, enabling Sabre-connected agents to service travellers during their trip,” says Frier.

"All agents have to do is opt their travellers in when booking in the Sabre Red Workspace and the system will automatically send them the latest information about their trip by either SMS or email.

To register a traveller for messages, agents simply enter an EMS command directly in the Sabre Red Workspace. Additional parameters, such as email, phone number, language of notification and preferred channel to receive messages can be specified in the command.

Trip Reminders and Flight Notifications can be sent in six languages: English, Spanish, Italian, German, French and Portuguese.
