Agents in Australia and New Zealand will be able to more effectively manage traveller risk and better serve their customers with the release of two new features for Sabre Traveler Security. GM Sales Sabre Pacific, Carl Frier, says recent world events highlight the need for agents to ensure they have the best tools available to manage the safety and security of their travellers. "In an emergency situation, clear communication is of the essence. The ability to let your customers know important travel information as quickly as possible can make a significant difference and by using the latest mobile technology, including email, internet and now SMS, Sabre Connected agents can reach their travellers in a timely way and help them manage their travel plans through the situation," says Frier. The latest enhancements to Traveler Security will allow agents to quickly and easily send SMSs, in addition to emailing travellers, before and during the trip. Group Text Messaging allows agents to quickly send out text messages to multiple affected travellers directly from the application. “Agents now have the ability to view real-time world events and travel alerts by destination directly from the dashboard in an easy to use world map view, enabling them to proactively alert customers to events before and during the trip,’’ says Frier. The Current Events Dashboard is based on information sourced through government departments, tourist boards, embassies, consulates, the Centre for Disease Control, World Health Organisation and various other agencies and publications. It provides agents with the latest risk assessments and travel safety information for any city or country allowing them to better service their customers in the way customers want to be served.
