Australian owned and operated leisure and corporate travel agency MTA – Mobile Travel Agents, is proud to announce, 2011 Young Australian of the Year and youngest person to sail solo, unassisted and non-stop around the world, Jessica Watson, as their new (and first) Brand Ambassador, at a brand launch Christmas party, held at Sanctuary Cove, Qld, on the 19 November 2011.

To cement the exciting new union, the internationally recognised Ms Watson, was officially inducted into the MTA team in front of 120 Travel Agents and Head Office staff at the brand launch celebration, and was presented with an MTA branded plaque by Co Managing Director Roy Merricks.

Mr Merricks was delighted to welcome Jessica to the MTA family. “Jess is a perfect fit and our first choice to be the face of MTA. Our new brand image is young, fresh, invigorated, adventurous and inspiring and Jess embodies our new image in appearance, demeanour, values, and ethics. She has all of the characteristics of success including discipline, attention to detail, preparation & planning, she takes full responsibility for her life, she dares to challenge the ‘norm”, she believes in herself, she is unassuming, modest, open and honest…but most of all determined.”

Co Managing Director, Karen Merricks added, “Jessica says she is an ordinary girl and not special, but she is special to MTA. We are proud to have Jessica on board with MTA and are really looking forward to working with her over the coming years!”

Overwhelmed by the warm welcome to MTA – Mobile Travel Agents, Jessica said of the event “I don’t remember feeling this welcomed straight away for a very long time. I do go well with travel, and not just with sailing, so it’s great to be associated with the experts in the industry”.

The Young Australian of the Year continues to be topical through her involvement with various projects, including her campaign to skipper the youngest crew ever to compete the Sydney - Hobart yacht race this year on Boxing Day. MTA – Mobile Travel Agents are already planning some exciting new campaigns with Jessica in 2012.
