Bali beckons with Visa onboard service launched in world-first

Garuda Indonesia launches immigration on-board visa service for all Sydney - Denpasar flights

Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia’s national carrier, today announced it will expand its visa on-board processing facilities to all flights from Sydney to Denpasar effective January 1 2012.

In a world-first for all airlines flying to Australia’s favourite international holiday destination - Bali - Garuda Indonesia will expand its immigration on-board services following the recent success of the trial phase for flights from Sydney to Jakarta launched in 2010.

Commenting on the introduction of the new visa on-board service, Senior General Manager Australia/ SWP, Bagus Siregar said: “We are delighted to be offering our customers such a convenient and exclusive service. The service allows passengers to fast-track through immigration, avoid currency exchange and airport queues.

“Combined with Garuda Indonesia’s new service concept, The Garuda Indonesia Experience, passengers travelling with the airline can relax with the assurance that they will have faster entry and a great cultural introduction to Australia’s favourite holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s archipelago.”

Garuda Indonesia passengers taking advantage of this new services will have their visa processed by immigration officials on-board the aircraft and payment will be processed when checking-in at Sydney airport.

Garuda Indonesia is looking to extend this service to all flights departing Australia in the future following the success of phase two of the trial.
