At the start of March 2012, roomsXML added a unique search filter which enabled travel agents to easily locate apartments in cities across the world. Mark Luckey, MD of roomsXML Asia Pacific says “Over the past few months we received a number of requests from the roomsXML customer base. An emerging trend was ever growing interest in apartments. “As part of our quarterly review with our partners across Europe, USA and Saudi Arabia, we decided it was worth the investment to implement the new feature. “With about 80,000 unique hotels in the system we needed to find an easy way for agents to locate these properties. We re-engineered the database to separate hotels, hostels, apartments and resorts to give travel agents the ability to locate what they were specifically after. The initial release was for apartments in popular destinations such as Bangkok, London, Dubai, New York, Sydney and Paris. This week 19 apartments in Berlin and 89 in Hawaii were added to the inventory with an update on Singapore expected in the last week of March.
