Niue Island Loves Lady Gaga |
Hoping to draw in pop fans from across the country, Niue Islands tourism leaders have sent a letter on behalf of the people of Niue asking singer, Lady Gaga to bring her Monster Ball Tour to the island.
The idea and letter, introduced by Niue Tourism development manager Hayden Porter, encourages the entertainer to support the tiny island and offers the promise of drawing in an entire nation to attend the concert.
We saw Lady Gaga was coming to New Zealand on her Monster Ball Tour, and we have so many fans here that we thought, how great would it be if she came to Niue? Mr Porter said.
We know its a crazy idea, but we figure that Lady Gaga is crazy enough that she may just go for it.
The letter, sent on behalf of the people of Niue reads;
Being a remote Pacific Island, it does get a bit hard for us to keep up with the latest music; however you are one artist which has certainly struck a chord in this tiny nation of ours. So much so, that if you would like to reconsider a concert in Niue we can guarantee that the entire population (of approximately 1600 people) will turn up for your concert.
This is something which probably couldnt be achieved anywhere else in the world, and as far as we know has yet to be achieved by any artist in history.
The Niuean community is thrilled at the prospect of having the worlds biggest star visit their country and have rallied together, creating signs of encouragement and showing their support on the Niue facebook page. |
