Island Life Close To Town
Though the main island of the Republic of Seychelles, Mahé, is replete with luxury resorts and beautiful scenery, many travellers who venture all the way to Seychelles go a step further in exploring the country and visit another island. The most convenient of these other islands is Sainte Anne, just about ten minutes by boat from the nation's capital of Victoria. The island has only one resort, and though Sainte Anne Resort is close enough to Victoria for guests to enjoy the twinkle of the city lights come dusk, the island of Sainte Anne, which is a located within a marine park, offers its guests a pristine environment in which to explore the country's famed natural attractions. Aside from the obviously lush flora consisting of beautiful trees, plants, and flowers, Seychelles' fauna on the ground, in the air, and under the sea are also unlike those found elsewhere in the world. The island of Sainte Anne is also an important sea turtle reserve. One of the most exciting activities at Sainte Anne Resort is riding in its transparent canoes, which allow for observation of marine life while staying dry. Paddling a completely clear canoe—think Cinderella's glass slipper big enough for a person to ride in—is a special experience, gliding over coral reefs and observing colourful fish below.
If you prefer to be in the water than on it, the resort's water sports centre can take care of arrangements for snorkelling, diving, and a number of other aquatic activities. Sainte Anne Resort's glamorous pool is enormous and offers beautiful views across the water to Victoria. Beachfront pool villas at Sainte Anne Resort have private gardens and private pools outside and spacious interiors inside, a trait shared with the other accommodation categories. The resort's buildings are spread over a large parcel of land between the national park and the coast, giving a sense of serenity without sacrificing access to leisure activities and restaurants, which serve a variety of culinary styles from island buffet to international fine dining in the chic setting of Le Mont Fleuri, Sainte Anne Resort's elegant, open-air restaurant located at the end of the vast property on a rocky bluff overlooking the sea.
Sainte Anne Resort is a part of the Beachcomber Luxury Holidays group, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year with a bounty of prizes for Facebook friends. Beachcomber's representation in Australia is based in Queensland and would be happy to answer queries regarding Sainte Anne Resort or any of the company's other appealing properties in the Indian Ocean and Africa.
With Etihad Airways' recent codeshare agreement with Air Seychelles complementing its own services to this spectacular nation in the western Indian Ocean, Seychelles has never been easier to reach for travellers from the Asia-Pacific region.
