Copa Airlines, subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A. {NYSE: CPA}, has begun nonstop service five times weekly between Las Vegas and Copa’s Hub of the Americas at Tocumen International Airport in Panama, Republic of Panama, with connecting service throughout Latin America. “As the only nonstop Las Vegas-to-Panama service, Copa’s new flight reduces travel time by several hours,” said Dan Gunn, Senior Vice President of Operations, Copa Airlines. “This service not only connects two major business and tourist destinations, Las Vegas and Panama, but also will offer the fastest and most direct way to reach nine cities in Colombia, seven in Brazil, three in Venezuela, and two in Ecuador and many other destinations in Latin America.” The flight departs McCarran International Airport’s new Terminal 3 in Las Vegas on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 5:23 a.m., arriving at Copa’s Hub of the Americas in Tocumen International Airport in Panama at 2:22 p.m. The return flight will depart Panama on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 9:26 a.m., arriving in Las Vegas at 2:02 p.m. Copa is operating a Boeing “Next-Generation” 737-800 aircraft on the flight, with seating for 16 passengers in Business Class and 144 in the main cabin. From Copa’s Hub of the Americas in Panama, passengers can make convenient connections to destinations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Copa offers more flights to more international destinations within Latin America than any other airline from any other hub in the region. “We’re excited for Copa Airlines to provide service to the Las Vegas market. Its presence will allow us to finally welcome passengers directly from Central and South America, regions from which we have historically received travelers only after they first made multiple transfers,” said Randall H. Walker, Clark County Director of Aviation. “We can’t think of a better way to welcome Copa’s inaugural flight to McCarran International Airport than holding a fiesta for Copa on the first day of operations at our new Terminal 3.” Copa’s on-board service includes complimentary meals and beverages, including wines and spirits; a 12-channel audio-visual entertainment system in English, Spanish and Portuguese, with new movies monthly and complimentary headsets. Flight attendants are bilingual. |
