Expressions of Interest for Travel Agents Famil Tour to Korea - 23 October – 31 October, 2012 (14 seats available)

Expressions of interest are being sought for travel agents to join a familiarization tour to Korea from 23 October – 31 October, 2012 (only 14 seats available). The tour organized by the Gyeongsangbukdo Tourism Promotion Office in Sydney and supported by Korea Tourism will take in the highlights of Korea.

The tour visits the east coast Seorak Mountain National Park as well as Pyeongchang the host city of the Winter Olympics 2018.  From there it heads south to Yeongju and the old style scholar’s village of Seonbichon.  From there the tour heads south to Gyeongju, the ancient capital of the Shilla kingdom with its royal burial tombs and many historic sites.  Participants will be able to experience Korean templestay and a night at one of Korea’s most famous Buddhist temples Haeinsa.  The tour includes a visit to Jeonju’s 400 year old hanok village on the return to the capital Seoul.  Two full days are included in Seoul to enjoy visits to Changdeokgung Royal Palace, Insa-dong cultural street, visiting the famous East Gate and Itaewon markets and the trendy area of Myeong-dong and Samcheong-dong. 

The touring arrangements are fully sponsored including accommodation, all meals, transportation, entrance fees and an English speaking guide.  However, travel agents must purchase their own return air ticket from Australia to Korea.  Travel Agents can apply directly to Asiana Airlines(OZ) to request AD75 after they have been advised of their acceptance to participate in the familiarization trip. 

Travel agents who are interested in applying to join this familiarization tour to Korea should send their application by email with full details of employment (copy of AFTA card/business card required) to the Sydney office of Korea Tourism Organization by email:  visitkorea@knto.org.au no later than Friday 31 August, 2012  to register their interest to participate in this tour.

Following the selection process,  the organizer,  Mr. William Seung, Director of Gyeongsangbukdo Tourism Promotion Office in Sydney will then follow-up to advise acceptance of applicants.
