Show benefiting Keep Memory Alive to feature past artists from NBC’s hit show “The Voice” This October, mega superstar CeeLo Green is teaming up with some of the biggest names in entertainment to deliver an early Christmas gift to the Las Vegas-based non-profit organisation Keep Memory Alive. “CeeLo and Friends” will be presented in the Showroom at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Wednesday, 10 October, with a portion of the ticket sales benefiting Keep Memory Alive, which raises awareness and funds in support of Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s work towards enhanced treatments and research of neurocognitive disorders. CeeLo will perform songs from his upcoming Christmas album with past artists from NBC’s “The Voice,” as well as other performers to be announced at a later date. The show will not only serve as a preview of CeeLo’s new Christmas album, set to be released Tuesday, 30 October, but will also give fans a taste of his highly-anticipated new resident show, “CeeLo Green is LOBERACE,” set to premiere at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Wednesday, 27 February, 2013. “There is no place better than Las Vegas to bring this huge, magical extravaganza to celebrate my new holiday album and christen the home of my new Vegas residency show ‘Loberace’ coming to Planet Hollywood in February 2013,” says CeeLo Green. “I wanted to thank Vegas for welcoming me to their city and show my appreciation to the community by supporting the local mission of Keep Memory Alive. I’m excited to have them a part of this magic moment.” Tickets can be purchased at the Planet Hollywood Box Office or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Singer-songwriter, rapper, producer, actor and professional “lady killer” CeeLo Green first came onto the music scene as a member of the hip-hop group Goodie Mob along with Big Gipp, T-Mo and Khujo. They released their debut album “Soul Food” in 1995, pioneering them to the top of the emerging Southern rap scene. Goodie Mob released two more albums and is currently back in the studio working on a new album. After CeeLo’s success with Goodie Mob, he successfully reinvented himself and formed Gnarls Barkley with deejay-producer Danger Mouse. Gnarls Barkley released the 2006 hit “Crazy”, which reached #1 in various singles charts worldwide and won a Grammy® Award in 2007. Following Gnarls Barkley, CeeLo put his time back into a true solo career and released the 2010 album “The Lady Killer,” which featured his hit single “Forget You.” The smash hit received five 2011 Grammy® nominations, winning the category for “Best Urban/Alternative Performance”, and another single off the album, “Fool For You”, won two Grammy® Awards in 2012. In addition to the new Goodie Mob album this year, CeeLo is also currently working on a new solo album. Apart from his music career, CeeLo can currently be seen on the third season of NBC’s hit show “The Voice” as a coach alongside Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, in the US. |
