Royal Caribbean has overturned their ban on passengers bringing wine aboard their ships effective immediately. Joining sister line Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean will now allow passengers to bring on board a maximum of two bottles of wine at up to 750mL each per stateroom on embarkation day. Passengers wishing to consume this wine will be subject to a USD$25 corkage fee per bottle. “Royal Caribbean International understands that vacationers may have a particular bottle of wine or champagne that they would like to bring on board to commemorate a special day or event while on their cruise,” the cruise line said in a statement. Each bottle must show no signs of tampering and retain the original manufacturer’s seals. Ship security reserves the right to inspect all containers including, but not limited to; water bottles, mouthwash bottles and soft drink bottles and will dispose of any alcohol concealed in them. Any additional bottles of alcohol purchased both onboard or in ports of call will be held by ship security and returned to passengers prior to disembarkation. |
