Celebrity Millennium bid farewell to Sydney last Thursday after a fleeting visit showcasing her multi-million dollar ‘Solticisation’ completed in May this year. The fourth and final Millennium-class ship to undertake the transformation spent the night in Sydney awaiting the arrival of her sister-line ship Voyager of the Seas, before setting sail on an Australian and Asian itinerary calling into; Newcastle, Brisbane, Airlie Beach, Cairns, Darwin, Benoa and Singapore. “As a result of this multi-million dollar revitalisation, guests on both ships can now enjoy our unique AquaClass suites for a spa holiday at sea,” Celebrity Cruises Australia commercial director Adam Armstrong said. “These ships continue to raise the bar for cruising down under...” In addition to AquaClass suites, Celebrity Millennium now features new venues including; the ‘Bistro on Five’ creperie, Café al Bacio and Gelateria, ice-topped Martini Bar and Crush and the innovative Qsine that offers ordering via iPad and quirky menu items including spring rolls served in springs and popcorn prawns served in theatre-style popcorn boxes. The 2,158-passenger vessel greeted Voyager of the Seas amongst a flurry of pleasure craft and water cannons marking the first time that Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises ships have crossed paths in Sydney.
