AirAsia adds additional flight frequency from Kuala Lumpur to Lombok

Wednesday, 5 December 2012

The ‘portal’ to Indonesia’s hidden gem now available 4x weekly

Excellent demand for the Kuala Lumpur – Lombok flights have inspired AirAsia to launch an additional flight for the route, bringing total flights from 3x to 4x weekly starting 28 January 2013.

The Kuala Lumpur – Lombok flights, soon to be available on Mondays as well (currently on Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays only), is open for booking.

When AirAsia celebrated its inaugural Kuala Lumpur – Lombok flight in October 2012, the airline was greeted with a proud 100 percent load for the maiden flight. Bookings have been strong since the route was launched and opened for sale in August 2012, with outstanding passenger loads attained for each flight.

This new additional flight frequency is set to further boost the number of business and leisure travellers arriving into Lombok and vice versa.  As an airline with a strong presence in Asean, AirAsia is always at hand to contribute towards strengthening Malaysian - Indonesian bilateral ties and advocating good economic gains both ways, via more business and tourism activities.

Lombok’s fast gaining popularity came as no surprise. It is famously known as Indonesia’s hidden gem, blessed with a plethora of spectacular scenery which satisfies diverse holiday preferences.

Outdoor lovers may embark on adventurous trips to explore the mighty Mt. Rinjani or Tropical Forest & Animal Reserve. Honeymooners will definitely find the untouched sandy beaches at Senggigi and the surrounding Gili Island as romantic retreats.

For those who seek escapism, Lombok is a perfect spot for snorkeling and diving, with a dreamlike and picture perfect underwater world. Lombok is a must for those looking for adventure, serenity or a romantic getaway.

Indonesia is a very important market for AirAsia, with abundant opportunities and ample room for growth. With sustained economic growth, more people are able and keen to fly due to improved spending power, factors which underline AirAsia’s belief in the growth potential of Indonesia’s aviation sector.

Guests are encouraged to pre-book their check-in baggage allocation online along with their flight bookings as they are able to save up to 66% as compared to checking-in their bags over the airport counter.
