Celebrity Millennium sailed into Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS) earlier this week, marking the ship’s first journey into Asia. The ship arrived from Benoa, Bali, Indonesia and spent two nights at the Singaporean terminal. Making MBCCS its home-port in 2013, the ship will return several times next year before spring boarding into other destinations across Asia, The Maritime Executive reported. SATS-Creuers Cruise Services chief executive Melvin Vu said the terminal was “pleased” to have been selected as the ship’s homeport. “This certainly cements Singapore’s status as a premier cruise hub, and ultimately elevates the cruise industry in Asia,” the chief said. The Celebrity Millennium accommodates to up to 2,138 passengers and is among the top large cruise ships. |
