Make New Year’s Eve a Night to Remember at South Place Hotel

Tuesday, 18 December 2012

The same question is asked every holiday season: what are we doing for New Year’s Eve? South Place Hotel, the City of London’s first independent luxury hotel by restaurateurs D&D, has the answer: a luxury house party.

With an early check in from 12 noon, guests can pamper themselves in one of the 80 bedrooms featuring Josephine Home bed linen and St Clement’s amenities by perfumer James Heeley. The chic individual look of each room is a result of handpicked artworks from Hoxton Art Gallery, Jealous Gallery and artist Gavin Mitchell. Bathrooms boast a generous shower and most also include an enormous bathtub with plenty of wriggle room. After a soak, guests can switch on the Bang & Olufsen TV and get in the mood with Hotel DJ Teamy’s mixes for guests while wetting the whistle on a Sipsmith Gin & Tonic from the well-stocked mini-bar as a refreshing pre-dinner drink.

Executive Chef, Tony Fleming has created special menus for the night: up in Angler, the hotel’s classic seafood restaurant on the 7 floor, Tony has been working with Head Sommelier, Benoit Allauzen, to create a sumptuous, celebratory six-course menu with matching wines, including Jacquesson Cuvée No. 375 on arrival, paired with Poached Lobster & Barbecue Lamb Bon-Bon and Roast Wild Sea Bass, Parsnip & Cumin, Salsify, Red Wine Sauce washed down with a delicious Nebbiolo d’Alba 2003.  Down in 3 South Place Grill, Head Chef Pieter Fitz-Dreyer has created a delicious, hearty three-course menu that includes a glass of Piper-Heidsieck Champagne.

After dinner, relax outside on Angler Terrace or head down to 3 South Place Bar for killer DJs, cocktails and sexy staff.  Whether sitting on the heated terrace with a glass of Champagne or counting down to midnight on the dance floor sipping on a cocktail, either spot makes the perfect setting for that special midnight kiss.

And when it’s time for bed, the room is just a hop, skip and an elevator-rise away - blackout blinds set, pillows fluffed and a fresh jug of water waiting. When guests wake up, South Place Hotel’s new Bellini Brunch menu awaits with 3 delicious courses and all the Bellini’s guests can handle.

Located between Moorgate and Liverpool Street and with world-class chefs, luxurious bedrooms, incredible art, resident DJs and chic interiors, South Place Hotel will ring in the New Year with style.

The experience can be yours from £457.50 for two, to include dinner in 3 South Place, overnight accommodation for a two people sharing a twin or double room, entertainment and breakfast/brunch the following day; or upgrade to a six-course dinner in Angler from £705 for two, inclusive of dinner, bed and breakfast/brunch.

Those not wishing to book hotel accommodation can make a reservation for dinner only, priced £150 per person for six courses in Angler with matching wines (£95 per person for food only) or three courses and a glass of Champagne in 3 South Place Grill for £40 per person.
