As part of the Flight Centre Limited’s new franchising operation, the group has acquired one of the Harvey World Travel franchise agents.  Debbie Guides who owns ten travel agencies in Queensland has decided to switch her ten agencies to the Escape Travel brand.

Out of the ten agencies, nine operated previously under the Harvey World Travel banner, while one was branded The Travel Professionals.  The agencies currently employ 70 agents in Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton, Mackay and Brisbane.

Flight Centre Limited and Ms Guides have also signed an agreement for Flight Centre to hold an option that entitles them to acquire the business after seven years.

The agreement signed states that the deal is subject to the agencies achieving various targets for growth.  The final acquisition price, if Flight Centre does buy out the franchise, will be linked to the agency’s performance during the period.
