Garuda Indonesia is increasing its capacity from Sydney to Bali from today (June 20) as the airline introduces a new Wednesday flight to cater for growing demand for “The Island of the Gods”.

Arrivals to Bali from Australia have increased by up to 50 per cent in recent months in line with expanding overall international arrivals, which have risen by a similar proportion, and tens of thousands more visitors than the same time last year*.

Sydney’s new flight, GA717, will bring the total number of Garuda Indonesia services between Sydney and Bali to five non-stop flights per week with departures daily, except Tuesday and Friday.

GA 717 will depart on a Wednesday at the very convenient mid-morning time of 10.00hrs, arriving in Bali mid-afternoon at 14.25hrs, allowing holiday makers ample time to settle in to their accommodation and enjoy the start of their holiday.

The inbound flight, GA716, is also scheduled maximise holiday time in Bali,  departing early hours of Wednesday morning at 0100hrs and arriving the same day at 0830hrs.

“The introduction of the new service will result in a doubling of capacity from Sydney since the end of March which, along with capacity increases from Perth and Melbourne earlier in the year, put Garuda Indonesia in a good position to handle the increasing demand for Bali,” says the airline’s Regional General Manager, Southwest Pacific, Mr. Suranto Yitnopawiro.

Garuda Indonesia has the greatest number of non-stop flights to Bali, serving Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Darwin. All flights are full service and feature both Economy and Executive (business) classes.
