Monday, 4 January 2010

Boeing has received an order from an undisclosed buyer for 11 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

This order represents almost as many orders as the company received the entire throughout the entire year for the aircraft.

The aircraft manufacturer reports that it posted orders for 24 of the next-generation airplane this year but has had orders for 83 planes canceled, for an annual total of -59 net orders for the 787.

In addition to the most recent Dreamliner order, Gulf Air has ordered eight of the planes and All Nippon Airways, which is scheduled to receive the first Dreamliner, has ordered 5 of the aircraft.

“We are delighted that the second Dreamliner is in the livery of our launch customer, ANA,” said Scott Fancher, Boeing’s vice president and general manager for the 787.

“We are honored by the airline’s support and look forward to delivering ANA the first production airplane next year.”
