TravelManagers’ personal travel manager, Tracie Deans, who is representative for Dutton Park, Brisbane took part in the Teaming Up Against Poverty in the Brisbane Oxfam Trailwalker 100km walk. Starting at 8.30am Friday and finishing Saturday lunchtime it was a commitment that Tracie and her three girlfriends relished.
“We all like to have a bit of fun but we also felt very strongly about doing our bit to help the many starving children, who simply don’t have a voice.”
Tracie’s and the team put together a video on You-Tube to try to attract sponsorship and awareness of what they were doing in a way that might go viral.

And it worked with many of the TravelManagers team getting behind them as well as friend, family and other travel and tourism colleagues.
“We trained really hard with the goal of going under 26 hours, we aimed to raise $3,750 and so far we have raised over $7,300 but if readers of this article are able to support this a very worthwhile charity you can go to the Oxfam Website and the M-FORCE team page by clicking here….http://trailwalker.oxfam.org.au/brisbane/teams/team/?team_id=12090 we’d really appreciate your support.”
Tracie says they all have a few blisters but they’d do it again in a heart beat.
“It was very motivating because whenever we thought how sore our feet were or how far we had to go we just thought of why we were doing it, it was all the encouragement we needed.”
