The 57-suite small luxury expedition ship MS Caledonian Sky has been added to APT’s Kimberley Wilderness Adventures 2013 program.

MS Caledonia Sky, now co-owned by APT, joins Oceanic Discoverer, Coral Princess and  Kimberley Quest II for coastal cruise options incorporated in KWA’s established 26-itinerary program of land, coastal and air safari explorations of this fascinating remote part of Australia.

The ship features in 11, 15 and 28-day programmes in September, the latter of which includes land touring from Broome to Darwin via the Gibb River Road visiting Purnululu National Park, El Questro, Mitchell Falls and Kakadu in the NT.

KWA has also added Home Valley Station overnight stay and station tour and Broome extension options of a seaplane flight to Horizontal Falls, 4WD tour to Cape Leveque, or a Pearls and Camels tour (all include two nights at Cable Beach Club).

The Broome-Broome itinerary highlights are Mitchell Falls (with helicopter flight and two nights at Mitchell Plateau), discovering Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek, Gibb River Road, hiking and swimming at Bell, Barnett River and Galvans gorges, viewing Gwion (Bradshaw) rock art, Emma Gorge at El Questro, cruising the Ord River and Lake Kununurra, the world-heritage Purnululu National Park and cruising Geikie Gorge.

APT was voted Best Domestic Tour Operator at the 2012 National Tourism Industry Awards so is well credentialed to present again high quality tours of the Kimberley, according to Rob Tandy, General Manager – Kimberley Wilderness Adventures.

“Our key strengths are our strategically located network of wilderness lodges which provide a touch of luxury in Australia’s rugged last frontier , small group journeys in custom-designed 4WD with our expert Driver/Guides, travelling with no more than 19 other passengers, an included helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls, our unique indigenous community partnerships, the only Advanced Eco-Certified major tour operator in the Kimberley, plus over 40 years experience in the Kimberley that’s currently enjoying a 98% Traveller Satisfaction rating,” Mr Tandy said.
