After 15 years of being based in Broome, specialist wholesaler Broome & The Kimberley Holidays, will this week move our entire operation to Perth. The move will take effect at close of business this Friday, 26 October 2012.

In citing the reasons behind the move, Managing Director Bernard Whewell said, “ the travel industry has undergone many changes in the past 15 years, none more-so than in the online environment. In relocating our operations to Perth, we will have access to the resources we need to operate in this environment, which are becoming increasingly difficult to resource in Broome. We are also conscious of developing our growing WA business and the relocation affords us greater opportunity to drive business from the buoyant WA origin market, whilst maintaining our key East Coast agent relationships via improved online communications and Sales Management.”

From Monday 29 October 2012, the RESERVATIONS PROCESS of our business has been contracted to be handled by well-respected Inbound operator, Australia One under licence. Australia One is owned & operated by Mark Kommer and is based in Osborne Park, in Perth.
Mr Whewell said, “ In appointing Australia One to undertake this important function in our business, we have recognised the synergies which exist between our two companies. We use the same technology for our reservations & web services, ensuring a smooth transition. Likewise, the specialist product knowledge of Australia One’s reservation team, complements our own specialist positioning. Mark and his team will no doubt do a great job handling the reservations we generate and we are excited to be making this significant change in our business with their full cooperation and support.”

As a result of the move, a restructure will now take place in Perth. Our Perth operations, including our national Marketing and Sales team, will be headed up by recently appointed General Manager, Karen Castiglioni. Mrs Castiglioni, who has been with Broome & The Kimberley Holidays for nearly 4 years, will oversee the transition of the reservations functions and development of a new strategic direction for marketing of the business.
