Andrew Lee has been appointed as General Manager of Novotel Brisbane and Mark Wilkinson as General Manager of the Ibis and Mercure hotel complex.

Andrew brings with him over 12 years experience in the tourism and hospitality industry whilst Mark brings with him over 23 years.

Prior to his relocation to Brisbane, Andrew was the General Manager for Hotel Ibis and Grand Mercure Apartments in Townsville.

He commenced his career with Accor in 2000 working in a number of  Sales and Marketing roles at Grand Mercure Bowral Heritage Park, Mercure Resort Blue Mountains, the Summit Restaurant Sydney and on the company's economy brand hotels.

After graduating from the Accor Vivier National Management Traineeship Program in 2005 he was appointed to the position of Hotel Manager for Mercure Brisbane and Ibis Brisbane, a position he held until 2008.

Mark comes to Brisbane with extensive experience including his most recent role as General Manager of the 360 room Novotel Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast and prior to that General Manager for Sofitel Broadbeach Gold Coast - which saw him manage and direct the properties development and product enhancement.

Initially from a food and beverage background, Mark is a seasoned and dynamic hotelier with strong management and operations experience. Other experience includes roles at Grand Hyatt Melbourne, Hyatt Regency Coolum, Hayman Island and Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa.

Mark said that his new role comes at an exciting time.

'Ibis Brisbane is the first Ibis property in Australia to roll out the new Sweet Bed as part of the new Ibis mega-brand which boasts a five-star sleep experience at 3 star rates,' he said.

'Mercure is also about to embark on a refurbishment program based on a new proto-type room so both properties will offer a highly competitive hotel offering with excellent CBD locations,' Mark said.

Novotel has 296 rooms and Mercure and Ibis have 194 and 218 rooms respectively.
