William Angliss Institute’s, Industry Training Centre Sydney is thrilled to announce the launch of their new course Certificate II in Tourism (Flight Attendant) to the Sydney marketplace which will run from Monday April 15 to Friday April 26, 2013 with additional courses being held throughout the year during NSW school holiday periods.

This nationally accredited two-week course provided by Australia’s leading specialist training provider for foods, tourism and hospitality prepares students for interviews and a career with the world’s best airlines.

With the growth of online travel resources, the travel industry is becoming increasingly more competitive, which means specialist skills are now a necessity for delivering high quality, differentiated service.

“This course covers all the different and exciting areas needed for a job within flight attending, such as; the aviation industry, aviation emergency procedures, customer service, Apply First Aid, Communication and conflict and Grooming. The course has run as a pilot at our Melbourne Campus and has been a great success. This is a nationally accredited course and the student will graduate with a Certificate II in Tourism,” William Angliss Institute’s Student Recruitment and Events Officer, Anna Klingberg said.

“Certificate II in Tourism (Flight Attendant) is perfect for anyone who has ever dreamt of becoming a flight attendant! There are no age restrictions for the course however airlines generally require applicants to be at least 18 years of age.”

With a strong national reputation in the industry, William Angliss Institute has been awarded the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) award for ‘Best Registered Travel Industry Training Institution’ for three years running, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.

During this two-week courses students will learn skills in customer service, interview techniques, health procedures, safety procedures, security procedures, personal presentation, aviation industry knowledge, resume writing and gain their RSA and First Aid qualifications.

 “This course gives students an Introduction to life as a flight attendant. One of the subjects is ‘provide briefing or scripted commentary’ where you learn how to talk into a microphone and make announcements as you would on board an aircraft,” Ms Klingberg said.

“When students graduate from this course they will be fully prepared for the application and interview process for flight attendant training as required by industry. Not only will this course give students the skills they need, it will make their application stand out and the confidence to excel in the interview.”
