Following the acquisition by Accor of the Mirvac Hotels & Resorts portfolio, Accor has initiated a strategic review of the sales representation provided by the in-market agencies appointed by the then, Mirvac Hotels & Resorts. As a result of the review, Mr Michael Smith from Southern Hemisphere Representation Inc (SHR Inc) will no longer represent Accor Pacific (former Mirvac Hotels & Resorts) in North America effective 21st February 2013. SHR Inc has represented the Mirvac hotel portfolio for five years and throughout this time, the group’s hotels and resorts throughout Australia and New Zealand achieved a significant increase in awareness which led to strong market engagement. The efforts by Michael Smith who was instrumental in servicing the USA, Canada and South America in more recent times, undoubtedly played a part in ensuring the success and growth of our hotels and resorts and we thank him for his tremendous contribution. As a result of the review, Accor has opted to service North America from Australia as a consequence of the combined sales resource from the Mirvac hotels acquisition. In effect it will result in increased visits to market by senior Accor sales associates to capitalise on awareness generated by our trade partners over the past five years. Accor will continue to attend key trade events in market and will further strengthen the engagement with trade and distribution partners across the regions. KEY CONTACTS The North American market will be co-assisted from Sydney Accor head office by Matt Borger, in addition to Neale Herridge. |
