In recognition of his contribution in developing trade and tourism, Elhamy was awarded the 'Order of Merit' in June 2008, one of the highest honours on the NZ Queens Birthday Honours list, and only the second non- New Zealander to ever receive this award. Innovative Travel appointed iconic NZ Fashion Designer and entrepreneur, Jane Daniels, as its Brand Ambassador in 2008.
