  • 14th KLM destination in England
  • New option for Australian visitors to UK

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is expanding its presence in the UK, introducing new twice-daily flights between Amsterdam and Manston, Kent, from 02 April 2013.

The addition of Manston, in south east England, takes to 14 the number of UK destinations served by KLM, and provides direct access to the region known as the Garden of England, which is also home to iconic features including Canterbury Cathedral, Leeds Castle and the White Cliffs of Dover.

For visitors from Australia, the new flights increase the travel options for those wishing to visit both Europe and the UK, flying via KLM’s hub of Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. They also offer travellers to the UK the option to bypass London’s busy airports.

KLM flight KL 1519 will depart Amsterdam at 10:10am each day, arriving in Manston 55 minutes later at 10:05am local time, while flight KL 1523 will depart at 8:50pm, arriving at 8:45pm.

From Manston, flight KL 1516 will depart at 6:35am daily, arriving in Amsterdam at 08:35 local time, and flight KL 1520 will leave at 10:40am, arriving at 12:35.

All of the flights between Amsterdam and Manston will be operated with single class Fokker 70 twinjets, configured to seat 76 passengers.

KLM offers over 100 flights per week from Australia to Europe, with code share services from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth to Asia on partner carriers Malaysia Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Etihad Airways, and onward service to Amsterdam.

The AIR FRANCE KLM group serves a combined total of more than 125 destinations throughout Europe.
