Tips to boost your sales

Below are some ideas to boost your sales without heavily discounting your products and services.

Future-use coupons
For example, "For every $50 you spend tonight, you will get $10 off your next purchase of $50 or more." This gives your customers an incentive to spend at least $50, and it encourages your customers to return and spend an additional $50 in purchases when they apply their future-use coupon.

Package products/services together
Package a selection of products together and sell it as a special package or offer. For example, package it based on a theme, eg, colour, season, special event or holiday (Valentine's Day), topic etc.

Offer seasonal promotions
Promote a product or service with a special event or season, eg Winter Special, or Summer special, Valentine's Day special. Promote it by putting the special up on your website, in an -enewsletter, on your front counter.

Free meal deal
Partner up with a restaurant and offer a discounted or free meal when they book with you.

Run a contest
Any kind of contest can draw people in, but smart contests also make them want to purchase. For example, go in the draw to win a free holiday when you book during the month of September.

Upsell
Have you trained your staff in the power of suggestion? Get your reception to have an upsell suggestion at the ready. For example, book a tour.

Provide educational info
Digital information products like e-books and white papers can be distributed without additional cost. For example, top travel tips.

Have a featured item
Highlight and promote a particular item as a featured product of the week.

Include customer reviews
Testimonials are very powerful. Get positive reviews and promote them alongside your product.

Offer a club membership
Create a loyalty club with particular benefits for the customer, eg weekly newsletter with upcoming promotions, specials or discounts, coupons, special event invites etc.

Include add-ons
Have a list of add-ons for every service purchase, and make them quick and easy. Eg $15 upgrades.

Start a rewards program
Offer rewards and tie them to dollar amounts or commitment levels. The greater the purchase or commitment, the greater reward.
