Tuesday, 15 January 2013

Air Namibia will retire two A340-300 aircraft and
replace them with brand new state of the art A330-200.

Air Namibia has unveiled a new fleet renewal plan as its current A340-300 lease comes to an end.

Currently utilised on flights to Frankfurt, the airline will return its current A340-300 aircraft and replace them with brand new state of the art A330-200 aircraft from October 2013.

Due to heavy maintenance work to ensure aircraft meet the “return conditions”, the airline also announced it would withdraw from the Windhoek -Frankfurt route from mid-2013.

Leading up to the termination date, Air Namibia will also adjust Frankfurt flights, reducing frequency from seven to four, effective 27 January to 24 June 2013.

The schedule will run as follows:

From 25 June 2013 to 30 November 2013, the schedule will return to seven times weekly and then cut down to six times weekly from 1 December 2013 to 24 June 2014.
