The ill fated Carnival Triumph, recently disabled at sea as a result of a fire on board, has broken away from her moorings in Mobile, Alabama on Wednesday, in high winds.
This is the latest in what has become a litany of issues for Carnival with its vessel, the Carnival Triumph, as The Associated Press also reported that the US Coast Guard is searching the Mobile River for a shipyard worker, who went missing after the vessel broke free. The Carnival Triumph was towed to Mobile after being disabled on February 10 2013 by the engine fire, which left thousands of passengers stranded on board for several days in the Gulf of Mexico without air conditioning, electricity, water and sewerage, while the ship was towed to port. |
