British Airways and its cabin crew union, Unite have reached an agreement that could end over two years worth of disputes. The carrier’s staff are said to have viewed the latest proposal early yesterday morning and have commenced voting on calling off further strikes, Sky News reported. The deal is said to include reinstated travel perks, which were removed and sworn never to return by previous BA chief executive Billie Walsh, according to media. “Unite general secretary Len McCluskey will address British Airways’ cabin crew at a mass meeting planned tomorrow (12 May) to update cabin crew members on the status of talks being held between Unite and British Airways’ management,” an online statement from the union read. Disputes have cost the carrier up to £150m, according to media, with strikes lasting up to three weeks in total over the two years. |
