Air France A380 on Singapore-Paris route, 3 times a week

On 1 April 2012, Air France will operate for the first time an Airbus A380 on the Paris-Charles de Gaulle - Singapore route. This first commercial flight will be followed by a regular three weekly service between June and end-October 2012.

Air France’s A380 is currently equipped with 516 seats, divided between four classes: La Première (First), with 9 seats on the main deck, Affaires (Business), comprising 80 seats on the upper deck as well as Premium Voyageur, offering 38 seats and Voyageur (Economy), with 389 seats divided between the two decks.

The A380 is the most environmentally friendly aircraft – with less than 75g of CO2 produced per passenger kilometre – and the quietest aircraft in its category. The roomier cabin offers increased comfort and space. On board this superjumbo, Air France has innovated with special lighting ambiences that change depending on the various stages of the flight, special areas geared towards relaxation and conviviality, such as the gallery area, the six bars located in all cabins and the brand new in-flight entertainment system, featuring larger video screens.

Air France increases passenger capacity in Singapore by 30%

With the introduction of the A380, Air France will increase its daily Singapore-Paris flight capacity by up to 30%. The 30% increase in flight capacity via the A380s will substitute the introduction of additional flights in May.

The Air France daily flights between Singapore Changi Airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle service will be operated by a combination of the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 777-300 aircraft.

“The introduction of the Airbus A380 in Singapore proves the commitment of Air France in the South East Asia area. We are confident in Singapore’s potential as a market and aim to continue to capitalize on the good market conditions. Air France aims to strengthen its position in Asia and Singapore is a key travel hub in Southeast Asia and the Pacific,” said Paul Rombeek, General Manager Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, AIR FRANCE KLM.

In Singapore, Air France and KLM operate 14 weekly flights between Singapore and Paris or Amsterdam.

In Summer 2012, from Singapore to Paris-Charles De Gaulle, Air France will offer A380 flights three times a week and B777-300 flights four times a week. KLM offers daily flights to Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport and daily flights between Singapore and Den Pasar, Bali.
