Laucala Island is set to become a full member of the Leading Hotels of the World, with the property’s membership expected to be finalised within the month. Speaking at a press conference at the inaugural Luxperience exhibition in Sydney, the property’s David Steptic said the resort will become a fully active member of the elite hotel Group’s listing within a month and will feature in the Leading Hotels of the World 2013 brochure. “It took a lot of thought to become a part of Leading Hotels of the World,” he said. “Their brand is solid and trustworthy and we thought it would help the property.” Hit by Hurricane Tomas in 2010, Mr Steptic added that the property has since successfully rebuilt and “matured nicely”, with new interest building from the Australian, US and Spanish markets. “Our biggest clientele is from Australia and the US,” he said. “They are about 65 percent of our visitors, split down the middle. “But we’re also seeing nice improvement from Spain.” |
