Intercontinental Lessens Environmental Impact

Thursday, 27 September 2012

As part of their vision to become the most sustainable and environmentally friendly resort in Fiji, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, is proud to announce that it has installed Pentair filters to supply the resort with softened water that reduces the amount of chemicals required in cleaning and lengthens the life of appliances.

With climate change impacting the travel and hospitality industry on a large scale, InterContinental Fiji leapt at the opportunity to introduce water softeners.

“We are committed to being environmentally sustainable and have already implemented many strategies around the resort to improve our energy efficiency,” says General Manager Scott Williams, “There are a few more plans in the pipeline; we want to limit waste, conserve energy and increase profitability for the resort.”

The beauty of installing water softeners is that while enhancing the quality of guest experiences, the impact of operations on the environment and surrounding communities is limited.  InterContinental Fiji is dedicated to responsible business bringing projects to life in the most effective and sustainable ways.

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is part of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) which offers over 4,500 hotels in 100 countries across the globe to accommodate any traveller anywhere.  Whatever your travel needs, from luxury to family friendly to extended stay and more, you’re sure to find the perfect hotel within the IHG family of brands.
