Passengers aboard United Airlines inaugural 787 Dreamliner flight said the journey “was not very airplane-y” with a “very quiet cabin” adorned with “hidden gems”. United Airlines was the first North American airline to take delivery of the 787 Dreamliner, which flew from Houston to Chicago last week, according to the Chicago Tribune. Boeing claim the 787 Dreamliner is environmentally progressive, consuming less fuel and producing fewer emissions, and has been manufactured using recyclable materials. “If you want to be the world's leading airline, you need to have the world's leading airplane, and we have that today in the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner," United Airlines chief executive Jeff Smisek said. New Jersey resident and meteorologist Michael Phillips, 38, was one of many passengers praising the aircraft after flying the debut voyage. “It was a great flight... It was a very quiet cabin... The quietness really stood out for me,” Mr Phillips said. Mr Phillips liked the way the air nozzles worked, approved of the back-of-seat entertainment system and the hands-free fixtures in the bathroom. Following a tough year of operations, commentators have labelled United Airlines acquisition of the Dreamliner a reputation repairer. Are you taking a flight on the new 787 Dreamliner?
