I can't think of one word to sum up Oman. Yesterday I arrived at about 4am to a beautiful hotel in the middle of nowhere. I saw my first sunrise here and it was spectacular to say the least! Today was incredible. First stop The Grand Mosque and it was breathtaking, the intricate designs were amazing and the men's prayer room is the most beautiful room I've ever seen! After leaving the Mosque our convoy of 4wd's headed up through the mountains where we encountered some amazing scenery. The treacherous off roading was lots of fun too, lucky we had awesome drivers! The mountains are barren but the rock formations are beautiful. Then out of nowhere you come across clumps of trees which make it look like an oasis. The landscape is breathtaking. We stopped for a BBQ in the middle of the mountains which was the best spot I have ever had a BBQ that's for sure. We had a fantastic lunch which the caterers brought to us all the way from Muscat! A big thank you guys! And yes they even brought the actual BBQ to cook on. It was incredible. Lots more 4wdriving later and we have just finished a lovely meal at the Sahab Hotel. Can't wait for Nizwa tomorrow followed by an evening in the desert! I'm loving Oman!
