The International Air Services Commission (IASC) has issued a range of determinations, including capacity increases and codeshares, ahead of the impending holiday season.

The IASC has approved a capacity allocation of fourteen Qantas services per week on the United Arab Emirates route for use over the next five years.

The Commission also issued a determination permitting Delta Airlines to codeshare on Virgin Australia International services on the Indonesia route, in line with their codeshare agreement of 2009.

Singapore Airlines was also provided codesharing rights on Virgin Australia services on the New Zealand route.

Virgin Australia has sought a variation to Determination [2010] IASC 122, requesting an extension for the utilisation of capacity on the Bangladesh route to 24 March 2013.

As a result of the removal of codesharing restrictions in bilateral nation agreements, Virgin Australia has sought to revoke Determination [2010] IASC 121 for capacity on the Greece route and Determination [2012] IASC 105 for capacity on the Netherlands route.

The final date for notice of intention to make a submission relating to the applications for variation will be 21 November 2012, with all submissions due by 28 November 2012.
