Upping its domestic business game, Qantas has announced an expansion to its Qantas Club at Perth Airport to meet growing demand for premium air travel.

Commencing preliminary work next week and expected to open to customers from February 2013, the 400 square metre expansion will be located directly below the existing lounge, between gates 13 and 14 in Terminal 4.

As well as comfortable seating to cater to an additional 140 customers, the extra space will include more work areas, bar and meals space and amenities such as high speed Wi-Fi.

“We have seen a significant increase in passengers over the past couple of years in Perth, due largely to the mining and resources sectors, and we have outgrown the existing Qantas Club,” Qantas domestic executive manager customer experience Samantha Taranto said.

Late last month, Qantas also unveiled new Kate Spade designed amenity packs for premium customers on its international services.
